Injury from a window fall is surprisingly common, and many of these result in serious injury for the young children, with thousands of children in the US and Australia admitted to hospital each year for injuries from window falls. Other areas of your house may present hazards for young children. For concerned parents, these are some of the key preventative measures to take for childproofing your house.
Preventing Falls from Windows
Falls from windows tends to be more common in summer, for young children as well as the elderly. Keeping windows opens helps circulate air. Unfortunately, fly screens are not sufficient when the weight of a child is applied.
